Common questions

There's no sound.

Check the silent switch on the side of your iPhone. Tunnel Cobra respects it, like most games do — if your phone is set to silent, the game is silent too.

Also worth checking: Settings inside the game has a sound toggle, and the volume buttons control media volume while the game is open.

How do I play?

Hold anywhere on one side of the screen to fly — drag up and down to steer. Tap the other side to drop a bomb.

Your fuel is always draining. Bombing a fuel depot refills the tank, so most of the game is deciding when it's worth diving for one.

I keep running out of fuel.

You can afford to miss about three depots in a row, not four. If you're running dry, you're usually skipping depots that were reachable rather than missing unreachable ones.

The tunnel guarantees you a refuelling chance at least every seven seconds, so there is always one coming — the question is only whether you're willing to go down and get it.

It's too hard.

Turn on Assist in Settings. It shrinks your collision box, so near misses stay near misses. It doesn't change the tunnel, so runs are still broadly comparable.

I'm left-handed.

Settings lets you put the flight stick on either side. Bombs move to the opposite side automatically.

The screen shake makes me queasy.

Turn on Reduce Motion in Settings. The game also follows the system-wide Reduce Motion setting in iOS Accessibility.

My scores aren't showing up on the leaderboards.

Check you're signed in to Game Center: iOS Settings → Game Center. The game never blocks you from playing when Game Center isn't available, so it's easy not to notice you were signed out.

Endless and Daily Challenge have separate leaderboards, and always will — they're set on different tunnels, so a combined ranking wouldn't mean anything.

When does the Daily Challenge reset?

At midnight UTC, not your local midnight. Everyone in the world gets the same tunnel on the same date — if it rolled over locally, players in different time zones would be comparing scores on different tunnels, and you could change time zone to replay the same day.

I got a new phone. Do my scores transfer?

Your records are stored on the device, so a fresh install starts fresh. Any scores you submitted to Game Center stay on the leaderboards and follow your Apple Account.

Are there ads or in-app purchases?

No. Neither, and there's no plan for either. See the privacy page for what the app does and doesn't do with your data — the short version is "nothing".

Requirements

iOS 17 or later. iPhone and iPad. Plays in landscape. Works offline — the only thing that needs a connection is Game Center, and it's optional.
